(The Temple of the Peaceful Dragon)
Ryoanji Temple is Japan’s most famous rock garden. Hundreds of visitors come each day. The site lends itself to personal interpretation and meditation.
The site was converted into a Zen temple in 1450, but the original construction date is unknown.
Ryoanji Temple’s grounds include a park with walking trails, buildings, a pond, and a restaurant specializing in Yudofu (boiled tofu).
